Reports says that controversial Republican fundraiser, Steven Alembik has reported died in a strange manner as age 72.

According to the Miami Herald, on Tuesday, October 10, a controversial Republican fundraiser by the name of Steve Alembik attempted murder and suicide in the parking lot of a BurgerFi location in Delray Beach, Florida.

In addition, he shot an unidentified woman he thought to be his wife before shooting himself. The woman, who is thought to be in her late 40s, was shot in the arm and back when she ran into the burger restaurant, but she eventually made it out alive after being taken to a local hospital.

Although Steve Alembik’s suicide’s reason is yet unknown, the Miami Herald reports that it is thought to have been caused by his mental health problems.

Who is Steve Alembik?

Steve Alembik was 72 years old when he died from an attempted murder-suicide that occurred not too long ago. The native of Boca Raton was a generous contributor and ardent Republican Party supporter. He was well-known for wearing an American flag outfit on multiple occasions.

According to his LinkedIn profile, he was the chief data scientist and co-founder of SMA Communications, a Florida-based company that provided data for businesses, political campaigns, organisations, government agencies, and more.

What controversial statement did Steve Alembik make?

Steve was divisive, nonetheless, due to his offensive and racial comments. He once tweeted that former President Barack Obama was a Muslim for example. In 2018, at about the same time, he also asserted that Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg, who was then on the Supreme Court, “cannot die.”

He went on to tell Politico about his upbringing in 1950s New York, when black people were referred to as “neggers” and white people as “kinks.”

Steve Alembik, on the other hand, never distinguished between Republicans. In fact, during their campaigns for governor of Florida, he gave to both Ron DeSantis and former governor Rick Scott. But after uproar over his tweets regarding Obama and Ginsberg, Scott decided to donate a portion of the money to Shriners Hospital. DeSantis, on the other hand, returned $11,000 after using $4,000 of the money.

As to the Miami Herald, the Republicans made a public promise to refrain from accepting any funds from Alembik going forward.

Interestingly, despite Scott’s assurances, the news site reports that in 2021 and 2022, Steve Alembik gave more than $5,000 to the re-election campaign of Ron DeSantis and the state PAC that backed it, known as “Friends of Ron DeSantis.”

The GOP donor also gained notoriety in 2017 when, in response to a contentious comment made by Donald Trump regarding the original venue, he rescheduled a charity gala for his pro-Israel non-profit Truth About Israel from Charlottesville to Mar-a-Lago, despite the fact that other organisations withdrew their entries, according to The Washington Post.

Furthermore, even though Trump was not expected to attend the event, he used false promises to encourage ticket sales and give participants the impression that they would get to meet him in person. He was criticised for the same thing in addition to other things like inadequate lodging and subpar meals.

In addition, he asked people to continue supporting Trump, and at the charity, he raised $7,500.

Notable is also the fact that Steve Alembik was arrested in December 2018 on suspicion of domestic abuse; however, pre-trial diversion led to the charges against him being dropped.

Details about Steve Alembik death

According to reports, Steve Alembik, a contentious Republican contributor who had previously supported the campaigns of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and former President Donald Trump, passed away last week in an apparent murder/suicide attempt. On Tuesday, October 17, 2023, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office verified Alembik’s passing.

According to the authorities, on October 10, in the parking lot outside the BurgerFi restaurant, located at 7959 W Atlantic Ave., west of Delray Beach, Steven Alembik, 72, shot a woman before turning the gun on himself.

According to reports, the woman who was thought to be Steven Alembik’s wife fled the restaurant after being shot in the arm and back. After being transported to a nearby hospital, she is healing from her wounds.

But at the scene, Steven Alembik was declared deceased. According to those close to the late GOP donor, the New York Post reported that he had underlying mental health difficulties, even as officials looked into a possible motive for the crime.
